Call for Submissions

ISPIM Connects Porto Alegre, “Social Innovation and Impact in the Global South”, is a three-day conference that brings together over 200 innovation management professionals from over 30 countries.

Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, the most innovative state in Brazil, has shown a significant commitment to social innovation and making a positive impact on its citizens. With a culture of entrepreneurship and quality education, Rio Grande do Sul is at the forefront of innovative initiatives in the agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability sectors. Porto Alegre plays a crucial role in this dynamic landscape by hosting technology companies, renowned higher education institutions, and the best science parks in Brazil as well as by fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In addition to being the birthplace of the "Participatory Budget," one of the most important milestones in the city's and Brazil's political and social history, Porto Alegre pioneered movements to create a world-class innovation ecosystem and initiatives such as PACTO ALEGRE.

The city aspires to become the start-up hub of Latin America. This innovative approach and commitment to sustainable development make Porto Alegre and Rio Grande do Sul significant points of reference  on the Brazilian innovation map.

ISPIM, together with local host, Unisinos, encourages examples and insights into successful innovation practice, challenges or research from all regions of the world. If you are in doubt, please discuss your idea with an email to admin@ispim.org.
